Get PG&E data without disruption

PG&E has introduced new login security requirements, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), for all utility account holders. Customers must now update their contact info, use their full email as their username, and complete MFA at login.

We’ve updated our data access process to fully support these changes, ensuring secure and uninterrupted access for both new and existing PG&E authorizations.

You can read more about PG&E’s new online account features by visiting their account readiness page.

Collect PG&E data automatically

Let us handle PG&E data collections for you. To help you stay ahead of PG&E’s 24-hour MFA window, UtilityAPI now offers auto-collect for authorizations with three or fewer electric meters.

As soon as your customer authorizes access, we automatically collect and charge you for their data.

Why opt in:

  • Reduce the hassle of expiring MFA codes. Data is collected automatically after authorization to minimize delays in your projects
  • You are only charged once data is collected
  • Fully optional and easy to manage for your team

This feature is currently available only for PG&E accounts. We’re actively evaluating additional utilities for future support.

Customize authorization forms via API

Design a fully branded authorization experience within your workflow. With access to native authorization, you can:

  • Customize the branding, layout, and styling of your authorization form
  • Collect and submit required data like login credentials and MFA codes via API
  • Maintain control over the full authorization flow while leveraging UtilityAPI’s secure infrastructure

Filter meters by service type via API

API users now have greater control over the meter data returned in their requests. We’ve introduced two new parameters that let you exclude stopped meters and filter by meter service type (e.g., gas, electric, or water).

These improvements help reduce unnecessary data and make it easier to focus on the active meters that matter most.

These updates are part of our ongoing effort to make utility data access more efficient and flexible for your workflow.
