UtilityAPI is mission-driven software company based in Oakland, California. We make it easy for distributed energy resources (DER), energy efficiency (EE), and building management system (BMS) companies to request and download client utility bill and usage information. Our platform is used to accelerate deployment and monitoring of thousands of new energy technologies, which makes the grid more efficient and resilient. Some of the top solar, storage, and energy efficiency companies use us every day. We also offer a safe, secure, and standardized data access platform for utilities and utility vendors. Finally, we work with regulators and local governments to shape effective utility data access policies.

If you would like to use our logo or trademark in your press and event materials, we have some specific guidelines we require you to follow.

If you are using our logo in connection with you using our platform (e.g. if you are linking to your authorization form on UtilityAPI or embeddded in your product), that's generally fine. Also, if you have built compatibility with the UtilityAPI platform (e.g. your support importing our JSON format), you can use our logo to notate that you are compatible with UtilityAPI (however, logo use is restricted to just conveying compatibility, not other aspects or endorsements of your product or company).

Also, we don't mind you using our logo or trademark without our permission if it is part of an industry informational or profile piece or graphic, as long as it is presented clearly as representing UtilityAPI and not in any way indicating that we have approved, endorsed, or partnered with you. For example, if you are compiling a graphic about the energy software ecosystem, and want to use our logo along with the other vendors in the sector, as long as it is informational and not trying to promote any specific agenda, that's okay.

Other than that specific use case, you must get get our explicit, written permission to use our logo and trademark. For example, if you want to use our logo in your "Supporters of Clean Energy" pamphlet, reach out and ask before including our logo. We're pretty open to supporting and partnering with organizations and causes we believe in, so please don't view asking for permission as a barrier!

When logo use doesn't require written permission:
In a button or image that links users to your authorization form on UtilityAPI's platform.
To show your software or service's compatibility with the UtilityAPI platform.
For informational purposes as part of an unbias industry or profile piece of journalism.
When logo use requires written permission:
