Why do you need my login?
In order to share your utility bill and usage data, UtilityAPI needs to login to your online utility account to download this data. Your login credentials are securely encrypted and never shared with anyone. No one will have access to your online account except UtilityAPI, who is acting on your behalf with your consent under our very restrictive Terms.

In order to collect your billing and usage history, we must log into your online utility account. You are authorizing UtilityAPI to act on your behalf and log into your online account.
- We encrypt all passwords and user information using strong security protocols. All decryptions and logins are logged.
- We never share your login with anyone, including the party listed above. They will not have access to your online account.
- We consider our access read-only and we only collect data upon explicit authorization. Your online account will not be changed.
- Data is never sold or shared with any other parties. We charge the party above a fee collecting the data, but that's it.
- You can always see the data we've collected, and you revoke access at anytime, no questions asked.
We meet and exceed the U.S. Department of Energy requirements for their SmartMeter DataGuard Standard.
